The shelter created a supply wish list to highlight the items most critically needed by pets in its care and by members of the community who visit the shelter’s monthly and free community pet vaccination clinics.
People can support this effort by purchasing an item on the online wish list, donating online directly to the shelter, or by dropping off items from the wish list at the City’s Ballard, Southwest and Southeast Customer Service Centers. Online donations provided directly to the shelter can be used to address the most urgent needs.
The Seattle Animal Shelter, a division of the City’s Department of Finance and Administrative Services, is proud to join Mayor Harrell’s call for a One Seattle Day of Service and is doing so through a pet supply drive that will connect Seattle pets and their owners with critical resources. Founded over 50 years ago, the shelter promotes safety and animal welfare through community engagement, resources, sheltering, adoption, a spay/neuter clinic and free community pet vaccination clinics.
“Your donations will support the Seattle Animal Shelter in keeping pets and their families together, healthy and safe,” said Jocelyn Bouchard, Interim Director of the Seattle Animal Shelter. “Pets are an important part of a healthy and vibrant One Seattle and we are so grateful to community members who choose to donate their time and money to support the work of the Seattle Animal Shelter.”
People are invited to make their donations now through July 12, when thousands of Seattleites will come together for the Mayor’s One Seattle Day of Service. Thousands of neighbors will come together for the One Seattle Day of Service to give back and take action to improve the city we love. This year the City has partnered with over 55 groups to host events.
