June is Adopt a Cat Month – help the Seattle Animal Shelter celebrate it!
There is a reason why June is “Adopt a Cat Month” – the Seattle Animal Shelter is bulging at the seams with cute cats ready for adoption! To celebrate and to entice prospective owners, now through June 30, 2013, the Shelter is waiving adoption fees for cats six months or older. This offer is made possible by a grant from the Seattle Animal Shelter Foundation.
“Now is a fantastic time to introduce a new cat into your family,” says Don Jordan, Seattle Animal Shelter director. “Our adult cats are often overlooked, and it is time to get them into new, loving forever homes.”
With this special offer, for a cat (six months or older) adopters pay only the cost of the license, if applicable. Licenses are required for Seattle residents; a two-year cat license costs $27. Regular adoption fees are available online at: http://www.seattle.gov/animalshelter/adoption-fees.htm.
The adoption package includes:
- Initial vaccinations
- Feline Leukemia testing
- Certificate for free health exam at local veterinarians
- Spay or neuter
- Two-year Seattle Pet License (if applicable, fee applies)
The Seattle Animal Shelter is open Wednesday through Sunday, noon to 6 p.m. for adoptions. It is located at 2061 15th Ave. W. The phone number is (206) 386-PETS(7387). Animals available for adoption can be viewed online at http://www.seattleanimalshelter.org.
