Seattle Animal Shelter Foundation to Host Holiday Photos with “Santa Paws” and Local Pets

SEATTLE – The Seattle Animal Shelter Foundation (SASF) announced today that “Santa Paws” will visit The Alexis Hotel (1007 First Avenue in downtown Seattle) to pose for holiday photos with local pets and their owners as part of the Foundation’s annual holiday fundraiser. Photos will be taken Saturday and Sunday, December 8 and 9, from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. The Alexis, A Kimpton Hotel, is co-sponsor of the event.

Pets and their owners may enter the hotel through the main lobby. All dogs should be on leashes, and cats and other furry critters should be in carriers.

With a $15 donation, each pet owner will receive access to a digital photo. Proceeds will go to the Seattle Animal Shelter Foundation, which supports existing Seattle Animal Shelter programs and helps pioneer new initiatives to enrich the lives of shelter animals. Past grants from the Foundation have subsidized spay and neuter services; sponsored adoption of special-needs animals; and provided training for shelter volunteers, who ensure that each animal receives loving care while at the shelter.

“‘Santa Paws’ is an annual tradition that offers local pet owners an opportunity to enjoy a special holiday event with their pet and receive a wonderful keepsake, while at the same time helping Seattle’s less-fortunate animals,” says Kara Main-Hester, manager of the

Seattle Animal Shelter’s volunteer program and fundraising activities, and a member of the SASF board of directors. “It’s a fun way to help make a difference in the lives of our city’s orphaned animals.  The donations we raise will save lives and prevent pet homelessness.”
