Consider dropping off a donation at the neighboring Seattle Animal Shelter
SEATTLE – On Saturday, Sept. 17, 2011, the Seattle Animal Shelter is accepting donations of canned food, treats, and toys, for the cats and dogs at the shelter. If you’re on your way to the food rodeo and would like to drop off a donation, bins will be conveniently located in front of the shelter on Armory Way between the hours of 10 a.m. and 6 p.m.
“We welcome this great event to the neighborhood and we hope folks passing by our shelter will consider making a donation for the many cats, dogs and critters we have. With our volunteer foster care program and donations from the community, we are able to save and nurture hundreds of animals each year and place them in loving homes,” says Shelter Director Don Jordan.
The shelter holds monthly adoptathons in neighborhoods throughout the city and promotes the adoption of not just dogs and cats, but all adoptable animals, including gerbils, hamsters, guinea pigs, reptiles and rabbits.
The Seattle Animal Shelter is open Wednesday through Sunday, noon to 6 p.m. for adoptions and licensing. It is located at 2061 – 15th Ave. W. The phone number is (206)386-PETS(7387). Animals available for adoption can be viewed online at http://www.seattleanimalshelter.org
